Diptyque — Les Essences de Diptyque (Hong Kong, 2021)
Immersive fragrance gallery in K11 MUSEA’s Gold Ball.
Overview
We transformed the Gold Ball into a calm, museum-like destination. Five color-themed arch portals frame the brand’s “essences,” while a central court of plinths invites hands-on exploration. Back-lit oval lightboxes echo Diptyque’s iconic label and unify the composition.
Delivery model: engineered for client-side installation. Our scope covered design development, engineering, fabrication, full pre-assembly, and comprehensive install documentation.
Purpose
Guide guests through a see → want → try/buy journey: graphic portals attract from afar, illuminated hero displays focus attention, and pull-out trays present tactile scent clues that encourage sampling and conversion.
Materials & Techniques
- Structure & Fixtures: powder-coated steel pedestals; adjustable bases; modular arch frames.
- Surfaces & Graphics: CNC-cut MDF arches skinned with printed artworks; matte lacquer finishes; museum-style plinth tops.
- Media Feature: back-lit frosted-acrylic oval lightboxes integrated into each portal; ceiling track spots for highlights.
- Engineering Details: concealed wiring in arches and plinths; quick-lock fittings; labeled crates; wiring maps and step-by-step manuals for rapid install/strike.
Impact (Immersive Market Strategy)
- Instant Landmark: rhythmic arches + glowing ovals read clearly across the atrium.
- Media → Merch Flow: illuminated portals hand off to pedestals with trays for discovery and sampling.
- Shareability by Design: layered arches create depth and ready-made photo frames.
- Scalable Roll-Out: modular portals and standardized plinths enable fast reuse and localization.
